The Scottish Dancer

The Scottish dancer was a very popular tattoo. Like all Bert Vallar's designs this was tattooed freehand. Note the shape and proportion of the female. There is detailed work in the tartan skirt and bonnet. Bert was famous for running a single needle line down the back of the dancers legs (as was the style of the day)  He also added the ankle straps to some of these designs as shown below.
